GMC Experiences

GMC Scotland was a wonderful experience! I was honored and blessed to be invited in the midst of so many gifted artists. God's presence was real and the fellowship of believers was uplifting. With continuous worship rising to the Lord, it was truly a taste of heaven.

It was a wonderful experience to visit the Gospel Music convention at Fraserburgh last year 2006. The way you treated us during our stay is outstanding. You are all such a warm and generous people. We really enjoyed every moment of our stay and are both proud and humble for the privilege to have been invited.

We wish you all a Happy 10th Anniversary and hope that GMC will continue to bless people in the years to come. May the Lord richly bless you.

We don’t know how to thank you for the wonderful experience we had this weekend, even in Swedish. You are truly people of Gods heart, and we thank Him for you! The fun, food and fellowship you spoke of was really something extraordinary. You have surely encuraged us in every way possible!

Blessings from Dynamic (Natalie, Jonathan, Carina, Emma, Christer)

Our participation in the 2006 GMC Scotland was both a ministry highlight and spiritual highlight for all of us involved in with the Master’s Four. The warmth of the welcome we received and the response of the crowds who attended were topped only by the intensity of our own emotions as the audience ministered to us with a song of blessing during the conference finale! It is a memory that each of us will carry for eternity.

God is clearly blessing the commitment that the leaders of GMC Scotland have made to ensure that He is honoured and glorified in all that happens during those special three days each year. We cherish the memories of our involvement with you and speak often of our “Scottish family”. In many ways, we feel like that special weekend was a taste of what heaven will be like!

May God continue to strengthen and empower you as you look forward to your 10th Anniversary celebrations!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. We greatly enjoyed our time singing for GMC 2006. We pray you have a good 2008 convention. We still hear often from many who we sang to there in Scotland. It has amazed us that we would recieve so much interest so many months later.

God Bless,
Mark and Andrea Forester

My experience in Scotland was out of this would. The event was professionally run, we where taken good care of from all the people and especially the People how Hosted us.
We meet so may great artist, and just had a wonderful time in the Lord. I know the Lord is in All of this organization for you saw God in all that the people did, they just gave and gave freely of there time and gifts.

I would say the high light for me was at the last night when the audience was dressed up in there tartans ( I hope this is what you call them) and they sang to us. I was so moved by that moment, my eyes filled with tears.

I was thrilled and very blessed to be asked to sing at this event and would one day be honoured to sing at it again. May you continue to bring the good news to may in your country.

God Bless you all and may you have many more years,
Love Cheryl Dunn.

Well it's with the fondest of memories that we look back on our visits to the GMC - both as participating artists and as fully absorbing audience.

The whole experience held lots of different ingredients for us - with the overwhelming feeling one of honour to be part of it. To share the platform with highly respected Christian artists from all around the world is a very humbling experience. God bless you all for giving us that opportunity.

I don't know if you remember but that first visit we made to GMC - we all stayed in the White brothers caravans down at the campsite. Fantastic! What great memories we have of food, fellowship and fun down in those caravans.

The second time (2003) we were asked to come to the GMC was slightly different - as we decided to make it a trio thing - Michael, Teenie and Mairi Paton. We had only just started doing the 'trio' thing a couple of months before that. When you are asked to do something a second time it is also very humbling - it's also good to be able to picture the event and know what to expect. However you can never fully know what a GMC is going to bring - and when it's going to be your turn to have a good greet at someone elses song.

In a nutshell - our lives are much the richer for being involved with the GMC. We give thanks for what you're doing and pray that God will continue to guide and bless as you look towards the future.

Every blessing, Michael & Teenie

What a blessing and privilege it has been over the last ten years to be part of those who gather in 'Sunny Fraserbugh Scotland' to enjoy the Gospel Music Convention. The convention is so much more than a musical event and personally I have found it to be a time of spiritual refreshment, fellowship and challenge. No matter your taste in music there will undoubtedly be something for you, no matter your age or church background. Each group bringing in many cases their own humor, stories of life but most of their own unique experiences with the 'King of Kings'. No matter the artists backgrounds or country of origin they all have the same objective and goal - 'To Tell Others Of Jesus And His Amazing Grace Towards Us'.

But lets not forget the other events of the weekends - Children's Clubs,Teenagers Events, Teaching Sessions, Gospel Evening Service and dare I say - THE FOOD. MMMMMMMMM and the fun.

Its hard to say what particular event sticks out in my mind as being really special but 2007 will remain one of the most unforgettable years as I joined with others and witnessed the anointing of the Holy Spirit at the Prayer Meeting before the Gospel Service on the Sunday evening when we were praying for the Lords Servant Tom Anderson - Unforgettable !

My prayer would be that 'Until He Comes' we will have more Spirit Filled Weekends at GMC and that we can continue to practice our singing for the Big Event when - 'We shall see Jesus'.

We have performed twice at the GMC: in 2003 and 2004. The first time we didn't really know what to expect, having heard that people from Scotland tend to be quite tight-fisted and stingy:) (hopefully we didn't insult anyone;). Well, we can surely say that all our prejudice appeared to be absolutely groundless, because those few days in Fraserburgh in early spring 2003 were absolutely wonderful! A good and inspiring experience and truly a blessing to all of us.

The hospitality, kindness, and fellowship was overwhelming and made a big and lasting impression on us all - only to be exceeded at GMC 2004:) It is going to be very hard - if not impossible - to experience such hospitality anywhere else on this planet. We are very much looking forward to seeing you all in early spring 2008.

Paid In Full member Lance Moore says, "We had no idea what to expect when we arrived in Scotland to sing Southern Gospel music, but we were greeted with open arms. Our hosts were extremely hospitable and the concert-goers were happy to see us." Gospel Music Convention Committee members Ralph and Alison Sim hosted the group in their home. "Even though we were half-way around the world, we felt right at home thanks to the Sims. They were our personal guides into Scottish culture."

"We really enjoyed being able to warm up on Thursday night with most of the performers for the weekend. Everyone was able to relax and speak the common language of music," says Brock White.

"Scotland's Gospel Music Convention was truly a unique, spiritual experience. I was reminded that the type of music that we sing is not just a form of entertainment, but it speaks to the soul as seen in the response from all those in attendance. The message of Southern Gospel music is universal and it was encouraging to see that our style was appreciated by our Scottish brothers and sisters," says Bradley Littlejohn.
